In 2016, after working almost two decades for a large telecommunications company, globalisation struck and I found myself with some free time to figure out what to do next. Knitting has been a hobby for many years and I’ve always found it difficult to get the right yarn. There weren’t that many yarns shops around, even if knitting has been popular again for many years now. None specialised in organic and sustainable materials. So I set up Greener Wool, with the plan to produce and sell local and/or organic yarns for knitting and crochet, if possible in a brick and mortar store, and in any case online.
Life is never predictable. I’ve ended up having a full-time office job and an online yarn store with lots of certified organic yarns and one local single-breed yarn of our own: Mergelland. Who knows what the future brings?
