Loch Lomond Lace is the single-ply version of Loch Lomond, BC Garn’s typically English tweed yarn. It’s a woollen spun yarn – carded, not combed – so it’s light, it has volume and it has a great running length. It has a bit less tensile strength than a worsted spun yarn and it’s single ply, so this yarn requires some care while knitting: don’t work it too tightly.
You can knit it on its own or in combination with a second strand of a different yarn. And best of all: the yarn is GOTS certified! So from the sheep to the dyeing and production to the storage and packaging, everything is produced in an ecologically and socially correct way according to strict specifications.
The raw wool for Loch Lomond Lace comes from mulesing-free farms in South America. The wool is spun and dyed in Turkey.
